REI is teaming once again with the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council and land management agencies throughout the Bay Area for a morning of volunteer work on the Bay Area Ridge Trail, a planned 550-mile trail on the ridgelines circling San Francisco Bay. When finished, this spectacular trail will connect more than 75 parks and open spaces for hikers, mountain bicyclists, and equestrians.
Come lend a hand on November 6 at one of 13 Ridge Trail service projects around the Bay. REI of Santa Rosa will join with the amazing staff of the Sonoma County Regional Parks at Hood Mountain. Volunteers will work on several of the park's trails, and put the finishing touches on the new backpacking campsite.
No prior experience is necessary; park staff will provide tools and project supervision. Each participant will receive morning refreshments, snacks, a goodie bag, and the chance to win raffle prizes from REI. Registration is required. Participation is limited to 40 people so make sure to register. Please bring water and lunch, and dress in layers.
Come help build the trail you want to use! We look forward to working with you on this day of community and stewardship.
