There are some complaints going around about diaper rashes being caused by Pampers Dry Max Diapers - 4,700 to be exact, from April to May. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada (HC) are reviewing the diapers to find out the cause, but have not discovered it yet. (read press release)
Are you using Dry Max diapers? Have you noticed extra rashiness on your baby?
I was using Pampers Cruisers. When they added the Dry Max, my baby did get a really bad rash. The rash looked so different from normal, almost like bad acne. I actually had to switch to Huggies because the rash was so bad and nothing worked to make it go away. My husband actually heard about all the complaints on the news, which is what made me switch. From what he has heard, the rash is actually a form of chemical burn, which is why it looks so different than normal diaper rash. Although I really like the Huggies, and now he is moving into Pull-ups. :)
I sent my hubby in for our first box of #2's yesterday and he came out with them because they stop the swaddlers and go to Dry max after that. We haven't noticed anything yet but are watching her very closely! We love pampers and I will be really disappointed if it happens because huggies leaves resadue and the others don' keep my girls as dry...... guess we will see!
My boy never had diaper rash until dry max came out. He had some irritation here and there but nothing major. All of a sudden he got a rash so bad that it bled. I stopped using Pampers and switched to cloth. His skin is better, he's always dry and never irritated. I use cloth about 75% of the time and the rest of the time I use Up & Up (Target brand). Those work really well too.
I loved Pampers. We used them from the time he was born until a few months ago.
