We all serve the turkey, the mashed potatoes, the stuffing, and the gravy. Well, at least most of us do. But the sides at a Thanksgiving dinner can vary from family to family. For instance, no Turkey Day is complete in our house without Great-Grandma's raviolis, or Grandma's pumpkin cheesecake. Some families swear by the candied yams. Others would rather have their own homemade cranberry sauce than the stuff out of a can. A friend of mine cooks a ham alongside the turkey for a large crowd, and another does twice baked potatoes instead of mashed.
Do you have any nontraditional sides you include with your Thanksgiving dinner? What do you serve?
