hello Crissi. I a new to Nor Cal we moved here last year. I am a mother of two a 12 year old daughter and son who is 6. I have a photography office in Santa Rosa on 4th st. and thought this would be a great place to meet moms, and familys and pregnant ladies along with making friends. Here is my website

I am mom to a beautiful 4 1/2 month old baby girl. I would love to connect with some parents in the area. I live in Santa Rosa.
What is the best way to get started with connecting with others?

I believe, that because of the huge short-fall of money in SR and the county, that school-children will have to self-monitor and parents/friends will have to step up to the charge of helping children cross streets. The busiest streets will need volunteers. I grew up in Healdsburg when 7th and 8th grade boys were the crosswalk monitors. Of course that was well over 30 years ago in small town traffic. I really believe that in our economy as it is in 2010, we will need to see adult volunteers helping out. And if police are stationed nearby, people who continue to speed in school zones, will need to get tickets. When the city is out of money some luxuries have to go, I believe it was a difficult choice for the elected officials to make. I do not see or foresee any entity giving cities bailout funds. I believe the PTA and parents in general will have to deal with this as best they can in order to protect our students. Please do not lambaste me, this is my honest opinion.

Well thank-you Crissi, I wanted to comment on the crosswalk workers and the cutbacks. Maybe tomorrow I will have more time to navigate this network and figure out where I can write something about that. Looking forward to benefit from this loop.
